मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-16, verse-31

तस्य भार्याततः श्रुत्वा तं शापमतिदारुणम् ।
प्रोवाच व्यथिता सूर्यो नैवोदयमुपैष्यति ॥३१॥
31. tasya bhāryātataḥ śrutvā taṃ śāpamatidāruṇam .
provāca vyathitā sūryo naivodayamupaiṣyati.

provāca vyathitā sūryaḥ na eva udayam upaiṣyati
31. After hearing that very terrible curse, his distressed wife declared, "The sun will certainly not rise."
