मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-16, verse-18

तथापि प्रणता भार्या तममन्यत दैवतम् ।
तं तथाप्यतिबीभत्सं सर्वश्रेष्ठममन्यत ॥१८॥
18. tathāpi praṇatā bhāryā tamamanyata daivatam .
taṃ tathāpyatibībhatsaṃ sarvaśreṣṭhamamanyata.
18. tathā api praṇatā bhāryā tam amanyata daivatam
tam tathā api atibībhatsaṃ sarvaśreṣṭham amanyata
18. Nevertheless, the humble wife considered him a deity. Even though he was exceedingly disgusting, she still considered him the supreme best.
