महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-34, verse-55

तच्छ्रुत्वा भगवान्क्रुद्धो यक्ष्माणं पृथिवीपते ।
ससर्ज रोषात्सोमाय स चोडुपतिमाविशत् ॥५५॥
55. tacchrutvā bhagavānkruddho yakṣmāṇaṁ pṛthivīpate ,
sasarja roṣātsomāya sa coḍupatimāviśat.
55. tat śrutvā bhagavān kruddhaḥ yakṣmāṇam pṛthivīpate
sasarja roṣāt somāya sa ca uḍupatim āviśat
55. pṛthivīpate tat śrutvā bhagavān kruddhaḥ roṣāt

55. Having heard that, the Lord Dakṣa became enraged, O king. Out of anger, he released the disease of consumption (yakṣman) upon the Moon (Soma), and it entered the lord of stars (uḍupati), the Moon.
