मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-3, verse-71

प्रवर्तन्ते दुरात्मानो मनुष्यस्मृतिनाशकाः ।
रागात्तु क्रोधः प्रभवति क्रोधाल्लोभोऽभिजायते ॥७१॥
71. pravartante durātmāno manuṣyasmṛtināśakāḥ .
rāgāttu krodhaḥ prabhavati krodhāllobho'bhijāyate.

tu krodhaḥ prabhavati krodhāt lobhaḥ abhijāyate
71. Evil-minded individuals, destroyers of human conscience, engage in such actions. But from attachment (rāga), anger arises, and from anger, greed is born.
