महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-22, verse-68

अन्योन्यं प्रतिसंरब्धाः समासाद्य परस्परम् ।
अहं पूर्वमहं पूर्वमिति न्यघ्नन्सहस्रशः ॥६८॥
68. anyonyaṁ pratisaṁrabdhāḥ samāsādya parasparam ,
ahaṁ pūrvamahaṁ pūrvamiti nyaghnansahasraśaḥ.

68. Enraged at each other, they met face to face and struck down thousands, each one shouting, "I go first! I go first!"
