महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-22, verse-42

उपारमन्त ज्याशब्दाः प्रेक्षका रथिनोऽभवन् ।
न हि स्वेषां परेषां वा विशेषः प्रत्यदृश्यत ॥४२॥
42. upāramanta jyāśabdāḥ prekṣakā rathino'bhavan ,
na hi sveṣāṁ pareṣāṁ vā viśeṣaḥ pratyadṛśyata.

42. The sounds of bowstrings ceased, and the charioteers became mere spectators. Indeed, no distinction could be seen between their own (men) or the enemy's.
