महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-22, verse-22

विष्वग्वाताः प्रादुरासन्नीचैः शर्करवर्षिणः ।
अश्रूणि मुमुचुर्नागा वेपथुश्चास्पृशद्भृशम् ॥२२॥
22. viṣvagvātāḥ prādurāsannīcaiḥ śarkaravarṣiṇaḥ ,
aśrūṇi mumucurnāgā vepathuścāspṛśadbhṛśam.

22. Winds (vāta) blew in every direction, rising from below and showering gravel. The celestial serpents (nāga) shed tears, and an intense trembling (vepathu) gripped them.
