महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-50, verse-11

नाद्य नन्दन्ति तूर्याणि मङ्गल्यानि जनार्दन ।
मिश्रा दुन्दुभिनिर्घोषैः शङ्खाश्चाडम्बरैः सह ।
वीणा वा नाद्य वाद्यन्ते शम्यातालस्वनैः सह ॥११॥
11. nādya nandanti tūryāṇi maṅgalyāni janārdana ,
miśrā dundubhinirghoṣaiḥ śaṅkhāścāḍambaraiḥ saha ,
vīṇā vā nādya vādyante śamyātālasvanaiḥ saha.

11. O Janārdana (Krishna), today the auspicious trumpets no longer sound joyfully. The conch shells, which were once accompanied by the booming of drums and their own resonant clamor, are also silent. Nor are the vīṇās played today, accompanied by the sounds of clappers and hand-claps.
