Even for a sage (muneḥ) of expansive intellect (udāradhiyā), who possesses knowledge (jñasya), and is perhaps even associated with a loving young woman (rakta-bālāṅganasya api), the arrows of love (smarasāyakāḥ) directed at his mind (manasaḥ) are reduced to mere dust particles (kaṇaśaḥ pāṃsutām yānti).
