महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-160, verse-8

ततस्तस्योत्तरं वाक्यं स्वरवर्णोपपादितम् ।
शिक्षान्यायोपसंपन्नं द्रोणशिष्याय पृच्छते ॥८॥
8. tatastasyottaraṁ vākyaṁ svaravarṇopapāditam ,
śikṣānyāyopasaṁpannaṁ droṇaśiṣyāya pṛcchate.

8. Then, (Bhīṣma's) answering speech was delivered, composed with proper intonation and pronunciation, and imbued with the principles of phonetics and grammar, to Droṇa's pupil who was asking (the question).
