वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-48, verse-65

स्वयं रक्षोऽधिपश्चापि पौलस्त्यो देवकण्टकः ।
मृतेति संयुगे मुक्तारामेणादित्यतेजसा ॥६५॥
65. svayaṃ rakṣo'dhipaścāpi paulastyo devakaṇṭakaḥ ,
mṛteti saṃyuge muktārāmeṇādityatejasā.

ādityatejasā rāmeṇa saṃyuge mṛtā iti muktā

65. Indeed, the lord of the rākṣasas (rakṣas) himself, Rāvaṇa, a descendant of Pulastya and a tormentor of the gods, (was the one from whom) Sītā, thought to be dead, was released in battle by Rāma, who possesses the splendor of the sun.
