महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-92, verse-77

तेषु श्रान्तेषु भग्नेषु मृदितेषु च भारत ।
रात्रिः समभवद्घोरा नापश्याम ततो रणम् ॥७७॥
77. teṣu śrānteṣu bhagneṣu mṛditeṣu ca bhārata ,
rātriḥ samabhavadghorā nāpaśyāma tato raṇam.

77. O Bhārata, when the warriors were exhausted, defeated, and crushed, a dreadful night fell, and after that, we could no longer see the battle.
