महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-92, verse-44

अन्योन्यं हि रणे शूराः केशेष्वाक्षिप्य मारिष ।
नखैर्दन्तैरयुध्यन्त मुष्टिभिर्जानुभिस्तथा ॥४४॥
44. anyonyaṁ hi raṇe śūrāḥ keśeṣvākṣipya māriṣa ,
nakhairdantairayudhyanta muṣṭibhirjānubhistathā.

nakhaiḥ dantaiḥ ayudhyanta muṣṭibhiḥ jānubhiḥ tathā

44. O respected one (māriṣa), indeed, in battle, the brave warriors fought each other by seizing hair, and with nails, teeth, fists, and also knees.
