अबुद्धापतितेनाथ नादेन विपुलेन सा ।
वित्रस्तोद्भ्रान्तनयना गङ्गा विप्लुतलोचना ।
विसंज्ञा नाशकद्गर्भं संधारयितुमात्मना ॥५६॥

56. abuddhāpatitenātha nādena vipulena sā ,
vitrastodbhrāntanayanā gaṅgā viplutalocanā ,
visaṁjñā nāśakadgarbhaṁ saṁdhārayitumātmanā.

56. Due to that vast sound, which had fallen upon her unexpectedly, Gaṅgā, with her eyes frightened, bewildered, and overflowing with tears, became senseless and was unable to sustain the embryo within herself (ātmanā).
