मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-15, verse-73

अनुकम्पामिमामद्य नारकेष्विह कुर्वतः ।
तदेव शतसाहस्त्रं संख्यामुपगतं तव ॥७३॥
73. anukampāmimāmadya nārakeṣviha kurvataḥ .
tadeva śatasāhastraṃ saṃkhyāmupagataṃ tava.
73. anukampām imām adya nārakeṣu iha kurvataḥ
tat eva śatasāhasram saṃkhyām upagatam tava
73. Because you are showing this compassion today to those in hell here, your merit has indeed reached a hundred thousandfold.
