मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-15, verse-69

इन्द्र उवाच ।
कर्मणा नरकप्राप्तिरेतेषां पापकर्मिणाम् ।
स्वर्गस्त्वयापि गन्तव्यो नृप पुण्येन कर्मणा ॥६९॥
69. indra uvāca .
karmaṇā narakaprāptireteṣāṃ pāpakarmiṇām .
svargastvayāpi gantavyo nṛpa puṇyena karmaṇā.
69. indraḥ uvāca | karmaṇā narakaprāptiḥ eteṣām pāpakarmaṇām
| svargaḥ tvayā api gantavyaḥ nṛpa puṇyena karmaṇā
69. Indra said: "The attainment of hell for these sinful people is a result of their past actions (karma). As for you, O King, heaven is to be attained through your meritorious actions (karma)."
