महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-61, verse-42

ततो हलहलाशब्दस्तत्रासीद्घोरनिस्वनः ।
तदद्भुततमं लोके वीक्ष्य सर्वमहीक्षिताम् ॥४२॥
42. tato halahalāśabdastatrāsīdghoranisvanaḥ ,
tadadbhutatamaṁ loke vīkṣya sarvamahīkṣitām.

tat adbhutatamam loke vīkṣya sarvamahīkṣitām
42. Then there was a tumultuous, dreadful roar (halahala-śabda). All the kings of the world observed that most astonishing event.
