महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-336, verse-55

मनश्च प्रथितं राजन्पञ्चेन्द्रियसमीरणम् ।
एष लोकनिधिर्धीमानेष लोकविसर्गकृत् ॥५५॥
55. manaśca prathitaṁ rājanpañcendriyasamīraṇam ,
eṣa lokanidhirdhīmāneṣa lokavisargakṛt.

55. And the mind (manas), O king, is widely known as the stimulant of the five senses. This wise one is the treasure of the world; this one creates the emanation of the world.
