महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-336, verse-21

वायुना द्विपदां श्रेष्ठ प्रथितो जगदायुषा ।
वायोः सकाशात्प्राप्तश्च ऋषिभिर्विघसाशिभिः ॥२१॥
21. vāyunā dvipadāṁ śreṣṭha prathito jagadāyuṣā ,
vāyoḥ sakāśātprāptaśca ṛṣibhirvighasāśibhiḥ.

21. O best among two-footed beings, it was made known by Vāyu, the very life-force of the world. And it was received from Vāyu by the sages who subsist on remnants.
