अथ तां दयितां दृष्ट्वा विस्मयोत्फुल्ललोचनः ।
शिखिध्वज उवाचेदमाश्चर्याकुलया गिरा ॥ १ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: Then, seeing his beloved, Śikhidhvaja, with eyes wide open in wonder, spoke these words with a voice filled with astonishment.
