मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-75, verse-59

कन्योवाच ।
ऋतवाक् स मुनिस्तात किमेवं तप्तवांस्तपः ।
न त्वया मम तातेन ब्रह्मबन्धोः सुतास्मि किम् ॥५९॥
59. kanyovāca .
ṛtavāk sa munistāta kimevaṃ taptavāṃstapaḥ .
na tvayā mama tātena brahmabandhoḥ sutāsmi kim.
59. kanyā uvāca | ṛtavāk sa muniḥ tāta kim evam taptavān
tapaḥ | na tvayā mama tātena brahmabandhoḥ sutā asmi kim
59. The daughter said: "O father, why did that sage Ṛtavāk perform such austerities (tapas)? Am I not your daughter, my father? Or am I the daughter of a nominal brahmin (brahmabandhu)?"
