मया चास्मै प्रतिज्ञाता भर्येति मदिरेक्षणा ।
न चेच्छसि विवाहं त्वं सङ्कटं नः समागतम् ॥५८॥

58. mayā cāsmai pratijñātā bharyeti madirekṣaṇā .
na cecchasi vivāhaṃ tvaṃ saṅkaṭaṃ naḥ samāgatam.

The sage said: O woman with intoxicating eyes (madirekṣaṇā), I promised you to him as a wife. If you do not desire this marriage, then a great difficulty (saṅkaṭa) has come upon us.
