tataḥ sa cintayāmāsa rājā jāmātṛkāraṇam .
viveda ca na tanmaunī jagṛher'ghañca taṃ nṛpaḥ.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then the king pondered the reason for his status as son-in-law (jāmātṛ). However, the silent one (maunī) did not know that, and the king (nṛpaḥ) accepted that offering (argha).
