मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-106, verse-24

बाल्ये बालक्रियापूर्वं तद्वत्कौमारके च या ।
यौवने चापि या योग्या वार्द्धके वनसंश्रया ॥२४॥
24. bālye bālakriyāpūrvaṃ tadvatkaumārake ca yā .
yauvane cāpi yā yogyā vārddhake vanasaṃśrayā.
24. bālye bālakriyāpūrvam tadvat kaumārake ca yā
yauvane ca api yā yogyā vārddhake vanasaṃśrayā
24. That which is primarily characterized by childish activities in childhood, and similarly that which is proper in adolescence, and also that which is appropriate in young adulthood – for old age, it is resorting to the forest (āśrama).
