महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-32, verse-13

तस्मिन्सैन्ये महावर्ते पातालावर्तसंनिभे ।
निमग्नं तं रथं मत्वा नेदुः संशप्तका मुदा ॥१३॥
13. tasminsainye mahāvarte pātālāvartasaṁnibhe ,
nimagnaṁ taṁ rathaṁ matvā neduḥ saṁśaptakā mudā.

13. The Saṃśaptakas, believing that chariot to be submerged in that army—a great whirlpool resembling the eddies of the netherworld (Pātāla)—roared with delight.
