बृहत्-पाराशर-होरा-शास्त्रम्       bṛhat-pārāśara-horā-śāstram - chapter-43, verse-73

शत्रौ स्वल्पं वदेदित्थमष्टमेशादपि स्मृतम् ।
मित्रमध्याऽरिभावस्थे तस्मिन्नेवं फलं वदेत् ॥७३॥
73. śatrau svalpaṃ vadeditthamaṣṭameśādapi smṛtam .
mitramadhyā'ribhāvasthe tasminnevaṃ phalaṃ vadet.
73. śatrau svalpam vadet ittham aṣṭameśāt api smṛtam
mitra-madhya-ari-bhāvasthe tasmin evam phalam vadet
73. One should declare a short life when (the lord of the ascendant is) an enemy (of the Sun). This principle is also remembered similarly for the lord of the eighth house. When that (stronger) planet (from the ascendant or 8th lord) is situated in a friendly, neutral, or inimical sign respectively, one should declare the corresponding result (long, medium, or short life).
