नृणां परायुषा भक्त्वा तेषामायुः स्फुटं भवेत् ॥२३॥

Thus, having thoroughly calculated (saṃsādhya) the longevity for others, one should adjust (hanyāt) with their respective maximum longevity (svasvaparāyuṣā). By dividing (bhaktvā) this derived longevity for humans (nṛṇām) by the (overall) maximum longevity (parāyuṣā), their precise (sphuṭa) longevity (āyu) will be obtained (bhavet).
