The calculated longevity is considered threefold when a planet (khaga) is in its own exaltation sign (svocca) or its own zodiacal sign (svarkṣa). It is considered twofold when a planet is situated in its own navāṃśa, and similarly in its own dreṣkāṇa, or in an excellent (uttama) position.
