मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
ततः सखड्गः सधनुर्बद्धगोधाङ्गुलित्रवान् ।
जगाम वीर पातालं तेन गर्तेन सत्वरः ॥४५॥

45. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
tataḥ sakhaḍgaḥ sadhanurbaddhagodhāṅgulitravān .
jagāma vīra pātālaṃ tena gartena satvaraḥ.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then, the hero, equipped with a sword, a bow, and wearing a tied leather finger-protector, quickly went to the netherworld (Pātāla) through that tunnel.
