मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-113, verse-11

एकदा तु वनं यातो मृगयां स विदूरथः ।
ददर्श गर्तं सुमहद्भूमेर्मुखमिवोद्गतम् ॥११॥
11. ekadā tu vanaṃ yāto mṛgayāṃ sa vidūrathaḥ .
dadarśa gartaṃ sumahadbhūmermukhamivodgatam.
11. ekadā tu vanam yātaḥ mṛgayām saḥ vidūrathaḥ
dadarśa gartam sumahat bhūmeḥ mukham iva udgatam
11. One day, King Vidūratha went to the forest for a hunt. He saw an enormous pit, which looked as though it were the mouth of the earth gaping open.
