महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-43, verse-72

हत्वैनं पुनरायाति नागानन्यान्प्रहारिणः ।
पश्य नीलाम्बुदनिभान्महामात्रैरधिष्ठितान् ।
शक्तितोमरसंकाशैर्विनिघ्नन्तं वृकोदरम् ॥७२॥
72. hatvainaṁ punarāyāti nāgānanyānprahāriṇaḥ ,
paśya nīlāmbudanibhānmahāmātrairadhiṣṭhitān ,
śaktitomarasaṁkāśairvinighnantaṁ vṛkodaram.
72. hatvā enam punaḥ āyāti nāgān anyān
prahāriṇaḥ paśya nīlāmbudanibhān
mahāmātraiḥ adhiṣṭhitān
śaktitomarasankāśaiḥ vinighnantaṃ vṛkodaram

72. Having slain one (elephant), it returns again. Behold Vṛkodara (Bhīma), striking down other attacking elephants, which resemble dark blue clouds and are commanded by great mahouts, with (blows like) spears and javelins.
