महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-6, chapter-102, verse-78

विमृद्नतस्तस्य तु पाण्डुसेनामस्तं जगामाथ सहस्ररश्मिः ।
ततो बलानां श्रमकर्शितानां मनोऽवहारं प्रति संबभूव ॥७८॥
78. vimṛdnatastasya tu pāṇḍusenā;mastaṁ jagāmātha sahasraraśmiḥ ,
tato balānāṁ śramakarśitānāṁ; mano'vahāraṁ prati saṁbabhūva.

astam jagāma atha sahasraraśmiḥ
tataḥ balānām śramakarśitānām
manaḥ avahāram prati saṃbabhūva
78. tasya pāṇḍusenām vimṛdnataḥ tu

78. While he (Bhishma) was thus crushing the Pāṇḍava army, the thousand-rayed sun then set. Following this, mental exhaustion (manas-avahāra) arose among the armies, which were weakened by fatigue.
