73. brahmadattavaraḥ skanda tvayāyaṁ mahiṣo hataḥ ,
devāstṛṇamayā yasya babhūvurjayatāṁ vara ,
so'yaṁ tvayā mahābāho śamito devakaṇṭakaḥ.

73.
O Skanda, you are endowed with a boon granted by Brahma. By you, this buffalo demon was slain. Before him, even the gods had become as insignificant as straw, O best among victors, so great was his power. Now, O mighty-armed one, you have vanquished this thorn in the side of the gods.
