महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-221, verse-37

असुरैर्वध्यमानं तत्पावकैरिव काननम् ।
अपतद्दग्धभूयिष्ठं महाद्रुमवनं यथा ॥३७॥
37. asurairvadhyamānaṁ tatpāvakairiva kānanam ,
apataddagdhabhūyiṣṭhaṁ mahādrumavanaṁ yathā.
37. asuraiḥ vadhyamānam tat pāvakaiḥ iva kānanam
apatat dagdhabhūyiṣṭham mahādrumavanam yathā
37. That (army), being slaughtered by the demons (asuras), fell like a forest being consumed by fires, just as a great forest of trees, largely burned, would collapse.
