महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-221, verse-29

मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
इत्युक्त्वा विससर्जैनं परिष्वज्य महेष्वरः ।
विसर्जिते ततः स्कन्दे बभूवौत्पातिकं महत् ।
सहसैव महाराज देवान्सर्वान्प्रमोहयत् ॥२९॥
29. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ,
ityuktvā visasarjainaṁ pariṣvajya maheṣvaraḥ ,
visarjite tataḥ skande babhūvautpātikaṁ mahat ,
sahasaiva mahārāja devānsarvānpramohayat.
29. mārkaṇḍeyaḥ uvāca iti uktvā visasarja
enam pariṣvajya maheśvaraḥ visarjite tataḥ
skande babhūva autpātikaṃ mahat sahasā
eva mahārāja devān sarvān pramohayat
29. Mārkaṇḍeya said: Having embraced him, the great lord (Maheśvara) then dismissed him with these words. Immediately after Skanda's dismissal, O great king, a tremendous inauspicious event occurred, suddenly bewildering all the gods.
