महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-190, verse-79

मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
ततस्तथा कृतवान्पार्थिवस्तु ततो मुनिं राजपुत्री बभाषे ।
यथा युक्तं वामदेवाहमेनं दिने दिने संविशन्ती व्यशंसम् ।
ब्राह्मणेभ्यो मृगयन्ती सूनृतानि तथा ब्रह्मन्पुण्यलोकं लभेयम् ॥७९॥
79. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ,
tatastathā kṛtavānpārthivastu; tato muniṁ rājaputrī babhāṣe ,
yathā yuktaṁ vāmadevāhamenaṁ; dine dine saṁviśantī vyaśaṁsam ,
brāhmaṇebhyo mṛgayantī sūnṛtāni; tathā brahmanpuṇyalokaṁ labheyam.
79. mārkaṇḍeyaḥ uvāca | tataḥ tathā kṛtavān pārthivaḥ tu
tataḥ munim rājaputrī babhāṣe | yathā yuktam vāmadeva
aham enam dine dine saṃviśantī vyaśansam | brāhmaṇebhyaḥ
mṛgayantī sūnṛtāni tathā brahman puṇyalokam labheyam
79. Mārkaṇḍeya said, 'Then the king acted accordingly. Thereafter, the princess spoke to the sage: "O Vāmadeva, as was appropriate, I, though lying with this man (the king) day after day, constantly reproached him. Thus, by seeking good deeds (sūnṛtāni) for the brahmins, O Brahmin, may I attain a meritorious world."'
