महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-49, verse-44

ततः पितृवधामर्षाद्रामः परममन्युमान् ।
निःक्षत्रियां प्रतिश्रुत्य महीं शस्त्रमगृह्णत ॥४४॥
44. tataḥ pitṛvadhāmarṣādrāmaḥ paramamanyumān ,
niḥkṣatriyāṁ pratiśrutya mahīṁ śastramagṛhṇata.

44. Consequently, enraged by the murder of his father, Rama, filled with immense fury, vowed to rid the earth of all kshatriyas and then took up his weapon.
