ततः कालेन पृथिवी प्रविवेश रसातलम् ।

63. Then, in due course, the Earth (pṛthivī) descended into the netherworld (rasātalam), as it was not being properly protected by kṣatriyas, who are meant to uphold the natural law (dharma).
