महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-49, verse-24

ऋचीक उवाच ।
नोक्तपूर्वं मया भद्रे स्वैरेष्वप्यनृतं वचः ।
किमुताग्निं समाधाय मन्त्रवच्चरुसाधने ॥२४॥
24. ṛcīka uvāca ,
noktapūrvaṁ mayā bhadre svaireṣvapyanṛtaṁ vacaḥ ,
kimutāgniṁ samādhāya mantravaccarusādhane.
24. ṛcīka uvāca | na uktapūrvam mayā bhadre svairesu api anṛtam
vacaḥ | kim uta agnim samādhāya mantravat carusādhane
24. ṛcīka uvāca bhadre svairesu api
mayā anṛtam vacaḥ na uktapūrvam

24. Ṛcīka said: "O gentle lady, a false word has never been spoken by me, not even in casual conversations. How much less so when I have established the fire and am preparing the oblation (caru) with sacred mantras!"
