ऋचीक उवाच ।
नैष संकल्पितः कामो मया भद्रे तथा त्वयि ।
उग्रकर्मा भवेत्पुत्रश्चरुर्माता च कारणम् ॥२२॥

22. ṛcīka uvāca ,
naiṣa saṁkalpitaḥ kāmo mayā bhadre tathā tvayi ,
ugrakarmā bhavetputraścarurmātā ca kāraṇam.

Ṛcīka said: 'O auspicious one, this outcome (of a fierce-natured son) was not intended by me for a son from you. A son with fierce actions (karma) would be born, and the oblation (caru) and the mother are the cause.'
