महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-335, verse-20

ददृशेऽद्भुतसंकाशे लोकानापोमयान्प्रभुः ।
सत्त्वस्थः परमेष्ठी स ततो भूतगणान्सृजत् ॥२०॥
20. dadṛśe'dbhutasaṁkāśe lokānāpomayānprabhuḥ ,
sattvasthaḥ parameṣṭhī sa tato bhūtagaṇānsṛjat.

20. The lord (prabhu) saw the wondrously appearing, watery worlds. That supreme being (parameṣṭhī), established in goodness (sattva), then created the hosts of beings.
