वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-31, verse-59

युध्यस्व वा धृतिं कृत्वा शौर्यमालम्ब्य राक्षस ।
मच्छरैस्त्वं रणे शान्तस्ततः पूतो भविष्यसि ॥५९॥
59. yudhyasva vā dhṛtiṃ kṛtvā śauryamālambya rākṣasa ,
maccharaistvaṃ raṇe śāntastataḥ pūto bhaviṣyasi.
59. yudhyasva vā dhṛtim kṛtvā śauryam ālambya rākṣasa
mat sharaiḥ tvam raṇe śāntaḥ tataḥ pūtaḥ bhaviṣyasi
59. rāṣaka,
vā dhṛtim kṛtvā śauryam ālambya yudhyasva,
(vā) tvam raṇe mat sharaiḥ śāntaḥ,
tataḥ pūtaḥ bhaviṣyasi
59. O Rākṣasa, either fight, having mustered courage and resorted to valor, or you will be pacified in battle by my arrows, and then you will become purified.
