मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-43, verse-8

गृध्रः कपोतः काकालो वायसो वापि मूर्धनि ।
क्रव्यादो वा खगो नीलः षण्मासायुः प्रदर्शकः ॥८॥
8. gṛdhraḥ kapotaḥ kākālo vāyaso vāpi mūrdhani .
kravyādo vā khago nīlaḥ ṣaṇmāsāyuḥ pradarśakaḥ.
8. gṛdhraḥ kapotaḥ kākālaḥ vāyasaḥ vā api mūrdhani
kravyādaḥ vā khagaḥ nīlaḥ ṣaṇmāsāyuḥ pradarśakaḥ
8. If a vulture, pigeon, or crow (kākāla or vāyasa), or any other dark-colored or carnivorous bird, sits on a person's head, it is an indicator of a six-month lifespan.
