आरक्ततामेति मुखं जिह्वा वा श्यामतां यदा ।
तदा प्राज्ञो विजानीयान्मृत्युमासन्नमात्मनः ॥२६॥

26. āraktatāmeti mukhaṃ jihvā vā śyāmatāṃ yadā .
tadā prājño vijānīyānmṛtyumāsannamātmanaḥ.

When the face becomes excessively red, or the tongue turns black, then a wise person should understand that death is imminent for oneself (ātman).
