महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-26, verse-42

नाहं महेन्द्रादपि वज्रपाणेः क्रुद्धाद्बिभेम्यात्तधनू रथस्थः ।
दृष्ट्वा तु भीष्मप्रमुखाञ्शयानान्न त्वेव मां स्थिरता संजहाति ॥४२॥
42. nāhaṁ mahendrādapi vajrapāṇeḥ; kruddhādbibhemyāttadhanū rathasthaḥ ,
dṛṣṭvā tu bhīṣmapramukhāñśayānā;nna tveva māṁ sthiratā saṁjahāti.
42. na aham mahendrāt api vajrapāṇeḥ
kruddhāt bibhemi āttadhanū rathasthaḥ
dṛṣṭvā tu bhīṣmapramukhān śayānān
na tu eva mām sthiratā saṃjahāti
42. rathasthaḥ āttadhanū aham kruddhāt
vajrapāṇeḥ mahendrāt api na bibhemi
tu bhīṣmapramukhān śayānān dṛṣṭvā
api mām sthiratā na eva saṃjahāti
42. Standing on my chariot with my bow drawn, I do not fear even the wrathful great Indra, the wielder of the thunderbolt. However, even after seeing Bhishma and other prominent warriors lying (dead), my steadfastness does not abandon me.
