प्रकृत्येवासि सुजडः समस्तज्ञेन बोध्यसे ।
तेनात्मैवात्मनात्मानं चिनोतीदं हि नो भवत् ॥ ४२ ॥

By your intrinsic nature (prakṛti) you are indeed very dull, and you are enlightened by the All-Knower. Therefore, the self (ātman) indeed discerns the self (ātman) by the self (ātman). This, however, does not simply happen.
