Similarly, (inauspicious results are caused) by planets (taiḥ) that are combust, in enemy signs, or debilitated (astāribhanīcasthaiḥ), and not by those which are in friendly, own, or exalted signs (mitrasvabhoccagaiḥ). Thus, these general principles have been stated by the wise scholars (sūri) who know the science of astrology (horaśāstra).
