मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-61, verse-6

मृदुस्वभावः सद्वृत्तो वेदवेदाङ्गपारगः ।
सदातिथिप्रियो रात्रावागतानां समाश्रयः ॥६॥
6. mṛdusvabhāvaḥ sadvṛtto vedavedāṅgapāragaḥ .
sadātithipriyo rātrāvāgatānāṃ samāśrayaḥ.
6. mṛdusvabhāvaḥ satvṛttaḥ vedavedāṅgapāragaḥ
sadā atithipriyaḥ rātrau āgatānām samāśrayaḥ
6. He possessed a gentle nature and good conduct, having mastered the Vedas and Vedāṅgas. He was always hospitable to guests and provided shelter for those who arrived at night.
