मनु-स्मृतिः       manu-smṛtiḥ - chapter-1, verse-102

तस्य कर्मविवेकार्थं शेषाणामनुपूर्वशः ।
स्वायंभुवो मनुर्धीमानिदं शास्त्रमकल्पयत ॥१०२॥
102. tasya karmavivekārthaṁ śeṣāṇāmanupūrvaśaḥ ,
svāyaṁbhuvo manurdhīmānidaṁ śāstramakalpayat.

svāyaṃbhuvaḥ manuḥ dhīmān idam śāstram akalpayata

102. For the purpose of discerning the actions (karma) of the others, in due succession, the wise Svayambhuva Manu fashioned this scripture.
