महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-34, verse-49

प्रायेण श्रीमतां लोके भोक्तुं शक्तिर्न विद्यते ।
दरिद्राणां तु राजेन्द्र अपि काष्ठं हि जीर्यते ॥४९॥
49. prāyeṇa śrīmatāṁ loke bhoktuṁ śaktirna vidyate ,
daridrāṇāṁ tu rājendra api kāṣṭhaṁ hi jīryate.

daridrāṇām tu rājendra api kāṣṭham hi jīryate
49. O King of kings, generally in this world, the wealthy lack the capacity to properly digest food. However, for the poor, even wood is indeed digested.
